The Tuesdays

So my friend Chad and I have had some fun with Garageband and the sound equipment at St. Davids. Listen to our semi-fake band, The Tuesdays, here on Myspace .

Havalina is Dead!

Having just found that one of my All-Time favorite bands, Havalina, has, in fact, disbanded, I am lost; I am aloof; I am lonely; I am left wanting more. Matt Wignall, frontman and founder, relates that they were on the brink of releasing their next album "Pacific" (which I have been waiting for over a year) and Orlando Greenhill called a band meeting giving no reason, and as Matt suspected he was leaving the band for undisclosed reasons.

Granted I have been listening to them since I was in high school and have many memories of seeing them live and talking to Matt at their merch table; but he does not leave us to weep and gnash our teeth. On the band's website he leaves us with happy memories and a 26 song retrospective aptly titled "We Remember Anarchy, 1993-2005" free for download. Also he has gone on to form a new band with the remaining two members of Havalina, Erik Nieto and David Maust, named Matt Death and the New Intellectuals. They have already written songs and hope to carry on the torch of great indie music.

God Bless Them. See the whole truth at www.havalinaland.com

HERE WE GO STEELERS!

Finally the time has come and I couldn't be more excited. I can't sleep at night. I watch ESPN, ESPN 2, and FSN constantly (and I don't care). I know the facts, stats, and possibilities up and down, backwards and frontwards, sideways and diagonally. This city has waited too long for another Super Bowl and I feel it's ripe for the taking. Not to mention that Seattle planned their victory parade already. And Cowher has learned from his past mistakes, keeping people like Joey Porter on a shorter leasch than normal. Lastly, I'm not apologizing for being an enthusiastic Steelers fan. All the bitter football fans of teams like the Eagles, the Jaguars, etc. need to learn a little lesson in class and let a working-class city enjoy these times while we have them; this is not a fluke, and we weren't lucky, it has come down to skill, gameplan, and attitude (not altitude, Bronco fans). That's enough ranting for now.
